We will be watching Skinned Deep (horror movie) once more

Skinned Deep, an American Slasher film written by Gabriel Bartalos and released in 2004 is highly recommended to those who love in the genre of horror. The Rockwell family gets lost on the road and ends up living with an eccentric family as a result. This family is comprised of a mother and her three sons, who go by the names of Brain, Plates, and Surgeon General (Jason Dugre and Warwick Davis respectively) (Kurt Carley). As the story progresses it becomes apparent that the family is involved in illegal activities, and is the risk to the Rockwells. This is not a surprise.

Skinned Deep is an unforgettable horror film due to its extravagant set pieces, its humorous moments, and the rapid-fire editing. Its humor and pace of the movie were appreciated by the critic for Variety, Dennis Harvey, who described the film as "funny and perversely repetitive." It was however noted that Steve Barton of Dread Central has only given the film 2.5 starsand pointed out the usage of old-fashioned cliches and monotonous narrative as reason for his rating. Because of its special effects, the aesthetic that is reminiscent of the 1980s, and its frantic rapid-fire pacing, Ryan Larson of Bloody Disgusting described it as "one one of the more completely silly horror films released in the 2000s."



The lack of funds that the film was able to get was not going to stop Bartalos from creating a terrifying film that resembles The Texas Chain Saw Massacre or The Hills Have Eyes. Instead, he improvised the science fiction/slasher combo that's totally unintelligible, along with being totally off the mark. Bartalos's previously worked on the special effects for the well-known horror films like "Frankenhooker" as well as "Brain Damage" before working on "Skinned deep" is evidence of his love of the bizarre.

Skinned Deep is a good alternative for horror fans who are looking for something different to watch, despite its limited budget and outdated effects which may put off some viewers.
